Vanity or Charity?

Hi all,

I just stumbled upon the most amazing site ever! If you hair is affected by humidity then this is going to change your life! HairForecast.Com allows you to type in your location and then it gives you a daily forecast for your hair's behavior. You can plan a pony tail day in advance!

Every day that you check your forecast you also donate a days worth of clean water to an African person through Blood: Water Mission for the 1000 Wells Project. So even if you don't worry about your hair, maybe you should just pretend. Because being vain never looked so good!

XOXO,
Miss T

Read your Favorite Magazines Online

Have you noticed lately that every beauty magazine goes on and on about why you should go green and yet they don't really seem to be practicing what they preach? Maybe it's just me, but I go nuts when my monthly subscription arrives and it is full of those little subscription request mail in cards. You know, the things that then have an annoying way of falling out when you're at the gym or on the subway. I mean, I already subscribe guys! What a waste!!!

But I digress. Today I was reading New Beauty's online edition (yay internet!) and found this great article starting on page 58 called "Is Green Better for your Health?" It gives you the tools to differentiate between the various "Green" logos that are popping up at the beauty counter all seeking to promote an eco-minded awareness.

Congratulations to New Beauty for not only providing an environment friendly (and free!) way to view their publication, but for also promoting an educated awareness on the various eco-concious product options available to us as consumers.

Customer Feedback

Hi everyone,

As soon as new RAW products are developed we are always extremely excited to see if our customers love them as much as we do. And the recent launch of RAW Skincare was no different.

In order to get this kind of customer feedback we often host focus groups at our Los Angeles office. For this particular study we selected women (and even 1 man) of all races, ranging in age from late 20's to early 60's. We had them test the products for a full month at home and then come in to give us their unbiased opinions.

Here, unedited, are some of the amazing testimonials we received during that focus group:

“The first thing I noticed about this product was the packaging. It’s classy and yet speaks of something that is natural. I also really liked the mild, appealing fragrance. The eye cream was amazing! After the first use it made my eye area appear smooth and even the lines were far less pronounced. I will not leave home without the eye cream. Using the serum and the moisturizer, I loved the immediate effect it had on my tone. My skin had an evenness about it and it felt firmer. I was amazed at how effective the products were after one use. After a month, my face looked younger, less fine lines, a more even tone and tight-looking skin. I love these products, they are reversing time for my face.”

Shelmadine S

"I LOVE THESE PRODUCTS!!! I noticed a change within the first couple of days amazingly enough, i.e. skin radiance and suppleness, softness and glow! I am hooked for life! Also, the texture is silky, smooth and just perfect! The ingredients are incredible, and I am addicted to the smell – it is intoxicating!!

Michelle T

"“Raw Skin Care has provided my skin with a visibly improved softer image and a resulted in both smoother texture and the appearance of diminished fine lines. I love the ease of the three step process and the silkiness of the serum. This is a skincare line that really works!”

Eileen H

Truly this is a product line we can be proud of!

Moms Go Green!

As I'm getting older I'm noticing that much of my friendship circle is moving away from the late nights and cocktail parties and towards early mornings and well, stroller parties! ;)

If you're experiencing the same trend you may find some interesting tips and tricks on how to greenify your baby's supply bag at Mom Logic. Remember, every little bit adds up.

Governor Schwarzenegger Signs Groundbreaking Legislation Implementing First-in-the-Nation Green Chemistry Program

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed two billsinto law that will give state regulators broad authority to identify, evaluate and, if necessary, ban potentially harmful industrial chemicals.

A.B. 1879 and S.B. 509 establish the framework for a comprehensive "green chemistry" program to reduce or eliminate toxic substances in consumer products and the environment. A.B. 1879 gives the California Department of Toxic Substances Control authority, for the first time, to regulate chemicals in consumer products. The department has until Jan. 1, 2011, to develop a science-based program to identify and prioritize chemicals of concern and analyze alternatives to the chemicals. The bill also requires the establishment of a Green Ribbon Science Panel to advise the department.

The companion bill S.B. 509 requires establishment of an online Toxics Information Clearinghouse to increase consumer knowledge about the toxicity and hazards of everyday chemicals. It also requires the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment to develop, through a public process, hazard traits and environmental and toxicological endpoints for the clearinghouse.

This is a giant step in the right direction!!

Travel Green

You recycle and try to reduce waste at home, so why not take that earth friendly attitude when you vacation.

Ecolodges are the hottest trend in travel and even though the summer vacation season is over - there's no reason you can't start thinking about the holidays!
