Mosquitoes hate Deet

If you've ever used Deet to ward off mosquitoes you might find this article interesting. Turns out eucalyptus, cloves, menthol and camphor are all natural choices that you can consider instead.

Recycle - The Raw Way

I just finished my second round of Raw Minerals. But instead of throwing the empty container away, I just use it as a travel pod for my custom-blend of the two foundation shades. I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this, but wanted to share this 'recycling' tip nonetheless.

Is your moisturizer causing skin cancer?

A study published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology found that four moisturizers (one is Eucerin) dramatically increased the growth of skin cancer in mice. I love that the researchers did not set out to study if the moisturizers promoted skin cancer. This was discovery was a complete surprise, which I think lends credibility, since we can assume that they did not go into this with a bias.

Moisturizers Linked To Skin Cancer?

This is great support for why we need better safety testing of our products!!!!

Is Blue the new Green?

Go Green !

Live Green!

Think Green!

Going Green has gone mainstream. From Green celebs to Green tweens, Green Living has infiltrated fashion, beauty, and mainstream media - and the slogans and trends to prove it are everywhere. The Go Green trend is going strong and seems to be here to stay ... or is it?

Advertising firm JWT predicts that we may soon be Going Blue. Blue? Yes, JWT predicts that one of the top trends of 2008 will see blue replacing green as the color of environmentalism, social conscience, an all-aroud niceness.

If JWT is right, Going Green may soon be "so yesterday" ... say hello to Go Blue t-shirts.

Are you ready to get the blues?

The Electric Car is Coming Back!

One of the best things we can do is support the return of the electric car. It’s really sad that the efforts to bring it to market in the 90’s were overturned…but it’s better late than never!

Can you imagine no oil changes, no tune ups, no dependence on foreign oil? Not to mention no more worries over skyrocketing gas prices!!

I also love that electric vehicles have less than 1/10th as many parts as a gas car. There's no engine, transmission, spark plugs, valves, fuel tank, tailpipe, distributor, starter, clutch, muffler or catalytic converter.

Check out the website Plug-In America for more information on electric cars and what you can do to support their return. Right now, making the choice to use an electric vehicle would be one of the best ways to reduce carbon emissions.

In the meantime, I'm loving my Camry Hybrid!!!

Lucky Mag's Sweet Sixteen of Green

Yippee! Raw Natural Beauty is in the September issue of Lucky Magazine! Our fabulous, Natural Transfirmation Brightening Powder is featured as the ‘tawniest bronzer’, described by Lucky as “the best toasty-golden color with a hint of pink shimmer for luminosity.” And it does so much more that that! Natural Transfirmation features our Liquid Blending Technology, developed by the pharmaceutical industry. This technology allows us to create a powder that is so super-refined it let’s you control your level of coverage, while delivering incredible luminosity with an absolutely weightless feel. The peachy shade is the perfect, universal tone for brightening the complexion and for hiding uneven skintone, discoloration and redness.

Some days I wear it in place of my regular mineral foundation to just brighten and hide problem areas, and other days I use it over foundation as a highlighter. I love it because it leaves my skin looking smooth, even-toned and naturally radiant. Another added bonus, because the powder is so finely milled and contains this amazing, freshwater pearl powder, you can brush it under your eyes to conceal dark circles and just brighten the whole eye area. Multifunctional to the plus!

Check us out in Lucky - page 261!

Cheers,

Christina
